Tom Cawley and the Curios

Tom Cawley, famed not only for his group Curios but also a founding member of avant garde punk-jazz icons Acoustic Ladyland, has been showered with plaudits from the critics. His trio Curios, winners of Best Band at the BBC Jazz awards, were labeled as the most formidable piano trio in the UK by Mojo. The Observer stated “Three sharp minds in perfect accord” and BBC Music “quite succinctly a quintessentially English type of treasure”.

James Pearson and the James Pearson Trio

James Pearson, likewise, is no stranger to the limelight. He has played with many of the great heroes of jazz from Wynton Marsalis to Dame Cleo Laine and has works regularly as musical director and pianist with the likes of Paul McCartney, Kevin Spacey and Will Young. Over the past four years his trio has performed as the house band at the historic jazz club Ronnie Scotts. Their most recent album Swing the Club has attracted universal acclaim from the critics for both James and the band and was listed in the Sunday Times as one of the top albums of 2009.
